Technical Features
The Operetta is one of the smallest loudspeaker in the Opera range.
"Smallest" only in dimensions, of course! The quality of construction
and sound is indeed top level, and the attention to details is the same
as you would expect from any Opera loudspeaker.
The frontal reflex design allows for easy positioning, even directly
to the wall or inserted in your library on a bookshelf.
Our design principles for the Operetta were to obtain:
a small size, with no compromises on sound;
flexibility in terms of amplifier matching and room placement;
a superior level of construction in solid hardwood throughout;
a pleasing acoustic balance, with clarity, depth and fine imaging.
The key to achieving these goals lies in the careful application of sound basic principles, coupled with the use of good quality materials. We believe that the Operetta meets all these requirements and in doing so offers outstanding value for money both in sound quality and in material content.
The Operetta is a compact two-way design using a neoflex bass/midrange
unit of 11 cm diameter and a 25 mm silk dome treble unit.
The cabinet is manufactured in our own workshop using solid mahogany panels, interlocked and braced in traditional furniture-making fashion for maximum rigidity. The Operetta's cabinet is free from resonance, so that the drive units have in effect a stable platform on which to operate and give their best results.
The crossover, though of simple design, uses good quality components and internal cabling and the loudspeaker terminals are our own Opera 24-ct gold-plated brass connectors capable of accepting any kind of cable termination.
